Election 2016: Let peace prevail – 2nd Lady

Ghana’s second lady Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur has appealed to Ghanaians not to allow politics to divide them ahead of the 2016 elections.

Speaking during a donation to the Axim Government Hospital and some selected schools in the Nzema East Municipality in the Western region, Mrs Amissah-Arthur said: “The people of the region must unite for the development of the region towards peace, unity and accelerated socio-economic development.”

According to her, Ghanaians must not allow partisan politics to destabilise the peace of the country because “there is only one Ghana”.

Donating some educational materials to school children of the Roman Catholic JHS in Axim, Manye Academy, Mpatim JHS, Roman Catholic School and the (Gwira Banso) all in the Nzema East Municipality, the second lady encouraged them to make reading a priority since it is key to personal development.

She also entreated the management of the hospital to take good care of the items in order to increase their lifespan and improve health delivery.

Some of the items she donated were beds, mattresses, crutches, Zimmer frame, trolleys, theatre equipment, wheel chairs, safety boxes, syringes, walking racks, among others.
