Ejisu-Juaben NDC elects parliamentary candidate

Ejisu (Ash), April 20, GNA – Madam Anima Wilson, a caterer, was at the weekend elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ejisu-Juaben constituency at an election supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC) at Ejisu. She polled 236 votes out of the total 323 ballots cast to beat

Mr P.P.K. Gyambibi, a teacher, who had 81 votes with six rejected votes. Addressing the delegates later, Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe, NDC National Women’s Organiser, appealed to the constituency executives to work hard to enable the Party capture the seat in the December elections.

She accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of implementing bad economic policies which had plunged the nation into an unprecedented poverty and hardships among the citizenry.

Mrs. Benyiwa Doe urged Ghanaians to vote massively for the NDC in the general elections to enable it to regain power to continue with its prudent socio-economic policies.

Mr. Doe Tamakloe, Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, attributed the party’s inability to win the 2004 elections to their polling station agents’ failure to be vigilant at the various centres. Madam Wilson advised the party faithful in the constituency to continue to support the NDC’s activities to brighten their chances of winning the elections.
