Effutu Assembly Members receive motor bikes

The Effutu Municipal Assembly at its Third Ordinary Meeting in Winneba has presented 28 motorcycles to members of the House to help address their transportation problems.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Nii Ephraim on behalf of the Government presented the bikes to the Presiding Member of the Assembly, The Very Rev. Eldad Bonney who later distributed them to the members.

The MCE expressed his appreciation to them for their contributions towards the Assembly’s success in 2012.

Nii Ephraim said their contributions enabled the Assembly to qualify for the Urban Grant and the FOAT programmes, adding that the Assembly will judiciously utilize the funds to support its share of the Common Fund towards the development of the area.

He advised the Assembly members to use the bikes for the purpose for which they were given to facilitate the development of the Municipality.

The MCE also thanked the technocrats in the District Assembly for their commitment, dedication, and sacrifices and expressed the hope that they will continue with that spirit in the coming years.

The Presiding Member, Very Rev. Bonney handing over the keys to assembly members, and commended the government for its commitment to resource the Assembly and also for making the assembly members mobile to discharge their duties effectively.

He urged the members to be careful in using the motorbikes to avoid any accidents.
