Effutu Assembly assists flood victim

Winneba, Nov 4, GNA – The Effutu Municipal Assembly has presented 20 bags of cement and 20 pieces roofing sheets to Madam Beauty Amenuvor from Akosua village in Winneba whose building and some personal belongings were destroyed in a flooding incident on June 20.

Mr Robert Quartey, Effutu Municipal co-ordinator of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Coordinator, said the donation formed part of the Assembly’s social responsibilities.

He advised people in the community to strictly adhere to building regulations and also desist from dumping refuse into gutters and waters.

Mr Quartey said the Municipal Disaster Management committee will soon start sensitization programme on prevention and managing of disasters.

Madam Beauty Amenuvor, receiving the items, thanked the Assembly for the support.
