Sekondi May 31, GNA – The Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital on Monday took delivery of three theatre monitors valued at 250 million cedis. The monitors were procured from internally generated funds of the hospital.
Speaking at the function, Dr. Robert Sagoe, medical director of the hospital, said the procurement of the equipment forms part of the efforts of the hospital to provide quality health care to patients. He said the cost of the equipment would not be passed on to patients who undergo surgery, adding that, the hospital wants to build good relations with the community by listening to patients’ complaints on service delivery and how best “we can solve these problems”. He said to ensure that patients are conveyed to the theatre without much difficulty, the management has decided to construct a trolley way from the car park to the theatre.
Dr Sagoe said the management of the hospital are seriously soliciting financial assistance from home and abroad for its expansion programme, which he said had received positive responses. Mr David Asinah, executive director of HANISA, the suppliers of the monitors said, other hospitals in the country that have theatre monitors include Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, Ho and Sunyani Government Hospitals.
He said the anaesthesia monitors are used to assess the condition of patients undergoing surgery and patients in critical state. 31 May 04 NNNN
