Educationist installed as Chief Linguist of Ahwerase

Ahwerase (E/R) Oct. 28 GNA- Mr. Eric Larbi, 45, an Educationist, was on Thursday installed “Akyeamehene” (the Chief Linguist) of the Ahwerase Traditional Council, under the stool name, Nana Yaw Amon Ababio.

Mr. Larbi who succeeded his uncle Nana Kwame Amon I, who died in 1994, was enstooled during the annual Odwira festival of the chiefs and people.

He appealed to the people to forge unity to ensure sustainable development, adding: “We are one people with a common destiny”. He advised particularly the youth to avoid promiscuous life styles to check the spread of the HIV/Aids pandemic.

In a related development Ms. Dora Manubeah Mensah, an 18 year- old Seamstress had been crown Miss Odwira, during a Beauty Contest organised as part of activities marking the traditional festival. She was presented with a four-burner gas cooker.

Ms Juliet Asah Sika, 22 who place second receive a two -burner gas cooker while Ms Vivian Appiah, 20, who won the third position had an electric iron as her prize.
