Education Director advises head teachers

Bechem (B/A) Sept. 21, GNA – Miss Veronica Essuman-Nelson, Tano District Director of Education has urged heads of basic schools to lead disciplined lifestyles for their teachers and pupils to emulate. Speaking at her introduction as the new district director at a meeting in Bechem in Tano South District, she called on head teachers “to wake up from your slumber” and take their supervisory role seriously for effective teaching and learning.

Miss Essuman-Nelson called on the heads not to relax in the discharge of their duties for the success of education in the district. The District Director appealed to them to co-operate with the district directorate, as well as with their teachers to assess and solve problems together.

Mr Kofi Nti, an assistant director in-charge of finance and administration asked the heads to support and supervise their teachers during instructional hours, “For when teachers are effectively supervised the standard of teaching and learning is raised”. 21 Sept. 04
