Mankranso (Ash), April 14, GNA- The Education For All Committee of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) was inaugurated at Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South district recently. The nine-member committee is under the chairmanship of Mr D.K. Osei, public relations officer at the Ahafo-Ano South District Education Directorate.
The committee is expected to ensure good quality education for all children of school-going age, particularly the needy in the district. Mr Kwaku Obeng Boateng, the District Chief Executive, who inaugurated the committee, stressed the importance the government attached to education.
He said it was for this reason that the district assembly has invested over six billion cedis in education in the district within this short period of its coming into office.
Mr Boateng, therefore asked parents and stakeholders in education to support all programmes geared towards uplifting the standard of education in the area.
Mr Kwadwo Owusu, the Ashanti Regional co-ordinator of GNECC said the organisation focuses on the provision of quality basic education for all children within the context that education was a fundamental human right.
He said his organisation also brings together organised groups to present a common voice on issues of education.
