Electricity has been restored to parts of Kumasi after engineers from ECG’s Ashanti Sub-Transmission worked through the night to repair several faults on the network.
The problems occurred at about 8:01 p.m. on Sunday and affected the Incomer 1 busbar, where a clamp had burnt out, a cable-end isolator at Anwomaso Bulk Supply Point (BSP), and the Boadi 1 feeder, which had developed a cable fault.
Teams from Sub-Transmission Control, Cable, Lines and Maintenance worked alongside Regional General Manager Ing. Kofi Apau Ohenese to address the damage.
Supply was restored by 1:10 a.m., after the engineers continued their work into the early hours.
Ing. Apau praised the teams for their commitment, co-operation and determination to restore the service while reducing disruption for customers.
The overnight repairs underline ECG’s stated commitment to maintaining electricity supplies and responding to network problems, even in challenging conditions.
