ECG disconnects over 100 homes in Kumasi

Hundreds of homes in Kumasi in the Ashanti region have been taken off the national grid by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

The exercise, according to the management of ECG, is aimed at recovering debts owed the company by consumers.

Domestic consumers in Kumasi owe the cash strapped power company over Ghc 92 million.

Public relations manager of the ECG in the Ashanti region Erasmus Kyere Baidoo told Starr news’ Isaac Bediako Justice that the company will deal ruthlessly with anyone who resorts to illegal means to reconnect their power.
