Dzodze Gets Children’s Resource Centre

Dzodze, April 17, GNA – A 200 million-cedi children resource centre constructed for the Dzodze community in the Ketu District was inaugurated at the weekend.

The Centre, which has 200 computers and accessories, and a library, was built by Children’s Resource Foundation, a non-governmental organization, to enhance educational standards and pleasure among children in the community.

Inaugurating the facility, Mr Kofi Dzamesi, Volta Regional Minister, accused some NGO’s in the region of living at the expense and detriment of deprived communities by misapplying funds they source from outside for the development of those communities. He said if NGO’s could provide services for communities as done by the Foundation, it would help raise the living standards of the people because government could not do all. Mr Dzamesi urged the District Director of education to ensure people in the district patronize the centre. Togbega Adzofia, a chief, advised the community to cooperate with the management of the centre to ensure success. Mr Kofi Kassah, Director of the Foundation, appealed to philanthropists to donate a bus to the centre.
