Drivers urged to exhibit responsibility on the road

Chief Superintendent Ernest Kuukure Maayeb, Divisional Police Commander of Tarkwa Nsueam, has entreated drivers to exhibit responsibility on the roads to avoid accidents throughout the Easter festivities.

He said to promote road safety, drivers must observe road signs, refrain from wrongful overtaking, over speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Cdr. Maayeb said this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Tarkwa, and explained that, a team of police officers would patrol the Municipality while another squad would be stationed in front of the Tarkwa main station along the Tarkwa-Takoradi highway to ensure discipline and safety.

He urged drivers and pedestrians to be extra careful to help promote road safety and make the Easter celebration accident free-nationwide.

Cdr. Maayeb appealed to passengers to report drivers who over speed and avoid joining rickety vehicles.**
