Driver narrowly escapes falling into a stream

Waakrom (C/R), Nov. 2, GNA – A driver with a Nissan Terrano vehicle loaded with terrazzo gravels, heading toward the Cape Coast-Takoradi highway on Monday morning, narrowly escaped falling into a stream, when he burst a tire and crashed into a palm tree.

Station Officer Joseph Kennedy Brown of the Central Region office of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNAFF), who was among a team of rescuers told the GNA that the driver had been rushed to the Anomabo hospital. An eye witness told the GNA that the palm tree saved the vehicle from plunging into the stream, adding that, he suspected that the load was too much for the vehicle.

Meanwhile a member of the rescue team has appealed to the police to offer assistance by directing traffic at the accident scenes to forestall a traffic pile, while the team clears vehicle wreckages.
