Driver dies in accident near Winneba

Winneba (C/R), Dec. 24, GNA- A driver of a Nissan Pick-Up belonging to the Twin Rocks Quarry in Accra died on the spot, when his vehicle with registration number GT 8445 P was involved in an accident with an articulator in front of the Galaxy Oil Filling Station near Winneba Junction on Saturday.

According to the Winneba Police, the body of the unidentified driver had been deposited at the Winneba Government hospital mortuary for autopsy, while police investigations continue. The police said the articulator truck with registration number GT.3231 R loaded with sugar was heading towards Accra while the pick-up was from Cape Coast when they crashed. The Police said this is the second accident recorded in the area within the past 48 hours.

In the first accident, which occurred near Gomoa Mpota on Friday, one person was killed and 20 others received various degrees of injury. 24 Dec. 07
