Dr Tobiga elected PNC parliamentary candidate for Nabdam

Nangodi (UER), Sept. 6, GNA – The People’s National Convention (PNC) when voted into power will not protect corrupt party cronies and other public officers when they do wrong.

It will also begin a process to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign loans and unreliable financial donor support.

These were made known at Nangodi in the Upper West Region when Dr. Samtim Tobiga, a lawyer, was at the weekend unanimously acclaimed the PNC parliamentary candidate for Nabdam to contest the 2004 elections. Mr. Francis Wangnab, a student who was slated to contest the primaries with Dr. Tobiga stepped down.

Dr. Tobiga thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in him and gave the assurance that when elected MP, he would commit himself to providing honest and progressive development especially in the areas of health, agriculture and youth employment.

He cautioned the party supporters not to use insulting language during the campaign period, emphasising “we are all brothers and sisters.”

The Constituency Chairman, Mr. Nyaaba Yine, appealed to the supporters to team up to help the candidate to win the seat for the party, saying the party is more important than the individual. 06 Sept. 04
