DR Congo presidential candidate visits Parliament

Accra, Nov. 11, GNA – A presidential candidate from the Democratic Republic of Congo, on Wednesday visited Parliament to acquaint himself with the political system in Ghana.

Mr Jean- Paul Moka, Flagbearer for the Movement Blue Party was also in the country to raise issues about human rights in Congo.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, he said Ghana’s influence in politics, religion and social issues in Africa was monumental. He said he was in the country to follow the foot steps of Patrice

Lumumba, the assassinated Prime Minister of Congo who visited Ghana to under study the first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Mr Moka noted that since the death of Lumumba in the 1960’s those who masterminded the killing had not been tried.

He said his mission was to advocate human right in Africa, adding that every human life in Africa counts.

Mr Moka who described himself as a political underdog in Congo said he would pull a surprise.

He said he was impressed about the civility that existed between the majority and the minority in parliament.

“There is no tough aggression between the minority and the majority,” he said, adding the minority is trying hard to understand the majority and vice versa.

Mr Moka, a banking consultant said he was over whelmed to see children in parliament, explaining that it is a good way to nurture them to accept democracy.
