Dormaa Central Chief Imam urges fellow Muslims to take opportunity to partake in the next Hajj trip

The Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Imam, Sheikh Zakaria Ibrahim, has convened a prayer session to welcome the Dormaa Central Municipal Hajj pilgrims who undertook the sacred journey to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj prayers, a fundamental pillar of Islam.

In an interview with GIFTs News, the Municipal Chief Imam articulated that the final Pillar of Islam is the Hajj pilgrimage, which encompasses prayers for oneself, one’s family, community, and nation, beseeching Allah to accept all the prayers offered during the pilgrimage. He emphasized his supplication to Allah to heed the requests and pleas of all those who embarked on the Hajj pilgrimage this year and to ensure the safe arrival of those yet to return.

He extended prayers for those unable to undertake the journey this year, wishing them success in all their endeavors and blessings upon their handiwork, granting them the opportunity to participate in the pilgrimage in the years to come. Sheikh Zakaria Ibrahim exhorted all Muslims to lead exemplary lives that fulfill the core values and mandates of Islam for the betterment of society and the nation as a whole.

Alhaji Achab Awudu, also known as Alhaji Authentic, one of the pilgrims, expressed profound gratitude to the Divine for bestowing upon them the strength and energy necessary to undertake the sacred pilgrimage. He remarked that the journey is far from facile, advising the youth who aspire to partake in this spiritual venture to do so without delay and not postpone it until the twilight of their lives. He highlighted the fact that the seven mortalities recorded among Ghanaian pilgrims were individuals in their seventies and eighties, underscoring the importance of embarking on the pilgrimage in the earlier stages of life.

He offered prayers for prosperity and advancement within the Islamic communities of Dormaa Ahenkro, seeking longevity and wisdom for the Islamic leaders to successfully manage the affairs of the faith.

He ultimately counseled the young individuals to refrain from drugs and substance abuse and to pursue more promising careers to enhance their future prospects, emphasizing that every aspect of life carries potential health risks in the long run.
