Domeabra to raise 40 million cedis towards electrification project

Domeabra (B/A), March 24, GNA – Residents of Domeabra in the Nkoranza District are to organise a fund-raising rally on Easter Saturday, to generate funds to support their on-going electrification project.

Mr. Johnson Duako, Electrification Project Committee Chairman, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Domeabra on Tuesday that the people had envisaged to raise about 40 million cedis at the rally and to complete the programme successfully.

Mr. Duako said as part of the rally, the people were contributing 70,000 cedis per man and 50,000 cedis per woman to generate more income towards the fund-raising rally.

He appealed to non-resident citizens of the area to visit home and offer support towards the rally to enhance the development of the community.

The Unit Committee Chairman, Mr. David Darko was grateful to the Nkoranza District Assembly for providing the community with 50,000 bags of cement towards the construction of concrete low-tension poles for the project.

Mr. Darko however, appealed to the Assembly to provide them with some iron rods to enable them to construct the poles as the community was faced with financial problems to purchase the rods. The people have managed to get sand and chippings for the construction of the poles except the iron rods.
