Divisive Akufo-Addo cannot govern Ghana – Amaliba

A legal practitioner and member of the National Democratic Congress, Abraham Amaliba has slammed the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Addo Dankwa-Akufo-Addo describing him as a very “divisive” character.

“Nana Addo is not a unifier, a very divisive person and cannot hold his people together,” Amaliba told host of Morning Starr Nii Arday Clegg on Starr 103.5FM Thursday.

According to Amaliba, Nana Addo’s failure to unite the opposition NPP is a clear indication that Ghana cannot be entrusted into his care.

“Every political party has divisions but the leader must go to the people…and bring everyone on board. But you see a situation where there is vindictiveness, there is an attempt to exorcise some people…the centre cannot simply hold for the NPP.

“If you claim you want to rule this country and in your own backyard you lack the capacity to hold the people together what is the guarantee that when given the whole country you would be able to rule it”.

Amaliba added that Ghanaians no longer view the NPP as a credible alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress.

“I think the NPP is beginning to make people feel that they are not a credible opposition and until they hold themselves together am sure these things would continue happening in their party”.
