District Health directorate honours six workers

Kuntanase (Ash), Feb 12, GNA- Six health personnel in the Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District of Ashanti were last Wednesday honoured at a dinner-dance to climax the district’s activities to mark the first anniversary of the Ghana Health Service for their dedication to duty.

Madam Felicia Boateng, a nursing officer at the Tetrefu community clinic with 32 years service, won the overall best health worker award and received a wax print and a suitcase.

Mr Daniel Assibi, a medical assistant at the Kuntanase Government Hospital was adjudged the best clinical staff, while Madam Elizabeth Antwi, a nursing officer at the Jachie health centre took the best reproductive health staff award.

Madam Alice Appiah of the Trabuom health centre, was adjudged the most committed health worker while Mr Edward Asante, an accounts officer at the district health administration, won the best paramedical staff award while the Kwanwoma community clinic was adjudged the best organised health centre.

Speaking on behalf of the award winners, Mr Assibi expressed their profound gratitude to the district health administration for the honour done them.

He urged his colleagues to redouble their efforts to unite and work as a team to save more lives.
