District Assemblies urge to invest in educational infrastructure

Addaikrom (Ash), Dec. 16, GNA – Mrs Christie Esi Pobee, the Acting Stool Land Administrator at the Atwima-Mponua District, has urged district assemblies to invest part of their stool lands’ revenue in the provision of educational infrastructure.

Speaking at an inauguration of a A24,500 six-classroom block for Addaikrom Primary School in the Atwima-Mponua District on Tuesday, Mrs Pobee commended the district assembly for using part of its revenue to raise the standard of education.

Mr Wilberforce Owusu Ansah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area also urged parents to acknowledge the introduction of the School Feeding Programme, Capitation Grant and the new school block to send their children to school instead of engaging them on their farms. Nana Munumkum Addai Ababio, Chief of Addaikrom thanked the District Assembly and the Stool Lands Sector for the project.

Nana Addai Ababio announced that Addaikrom would raise funds to undertake the construction of teachers’ quarters. Alhaji Adam, Assemblyman for the area appealed to government to provide Junior High School for them to cater for the increasing enrolment of pupils at the primary level.
