Director appeals to private schools not to charge high fees

Nkoranza, July 29, GNA – Mr. Jarvis R. Agyeman-Badu, Nkoranza District Director of Education, has advised proprietors of private schools to focus on offering quality education to their students and not merely to make money.

Addressing an end of year meeting of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of All Power Preparatory School at Nkoranza, he urged them to employ qualified and hard working teachers.

”If your teachers are self-disciplined and lead morally upright lives the students would copy and become responsible citizens.”

Mr. Agyeman-Badu appealed to parents to support and to co-operate with the teachers and pledged the district directorate’s support for private schools in the district to improve education standards in the area.

Pastor Caleb Kofi Osei, Proprietor of the school, complained about the irregular payment of fees by some parents while others had not been able to provide their children with tables and chairs.
