Delta Force hooliganism: Four more in police grips

Four more members of vigilante group Delta Force involved in an attack on the new Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator last Friday have been grabbed by police.

The four reported themselves to the police on Monday, March 27. Their leader, Kwadwo Fosu aka Bamba, was arrested over the weekend after Friday’s brutal attacks.

The group, known to be affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), is said to have registered its protest at the appointment of George Adjei as Regional Security Coordinator.

The attackers claimed he is not an indigene of the Region and so cannot be appointed as a security head there. But for the intervention of the police, the attack would have turned fatal as it was bloody.

“The Regional Police Command is urging the other suspects to report themselves to the Police and warned that the Police will not allow or countenance any lawlessness or hooliganism that would mar the peace and security in the Region,” a release on Monday said.
