Delegation from Clark Atlanta University visit AUCC

Accra, March 26, GNA – A two-man delegation from Clark Atlanta University (CAU) in the US would visit African University College of Communications (AUCC) in Accra from Monday, March 28. A statement issued in Accra on Friday said the delegation to be led by Dr Joseph H. Silver, Vice President (Academic) would hold discussions with Mr Bernard Otabil, Acting Dean of AUCC School of Business on the upcoming Clark Atlanta MBA programme to be set up at AUCC.

The delegation would also hold discussions with Mr Ato Amoaning-Annan, Acting Dean of Journalism and Communication and Mr Prince Deh, Interim Director of AUCC School of Information Technology. It would concern the implementation of joint research activities, mutual exchange of faculty and students, staging of joint conferences, submission of joint grant proposals and the exchange of academic materials by the two universities.

Professor Emmanuel Ofori Akyea, Executive Vice President (Academic) of AUCC speaking on the partnership said, 93AUCC seeks to take advantage of globalisation and the current information age to instill best practices among faculty and students whilst offering them with the opportunity to enhance their total outlook on the world through such cross cultural and academic exchanges.”

CAU was established in 1988 and is one of the four historically black colleges and universities to be classified by the Carnegie Foundation as a research university with high research activity. AUCC was established in 2001 and rated as a potential centre of excellence in media and communication studies by UNESCO and is one of the few universities in Africa with Communication Studies as its flagship programme.
