Deal ruthlessly with lawless NPP members – IGP

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mr. David Asante-Apeatu has charged Regional Police Commanders to deal ruthlessly with members of the governing party who will take the law into their own hands.

The IGP speaking at National Police Command Conference in Kumasi under the “Transforming Ghana Police Service into a World Class Police- The Role of Regional Commanders”, urged all Regional Police Commanders to work without fear or favour.

He further encouraged them to be committed in protecting lives and properties by dealing with lawless people in the country especially NPP members who ride on their party’s power to cause mayhem.

Abusua Dawuro’s Osei Kwadwo reported that, the IGP charged the Police Commanders not to hesitate to deal with law breakers. “The law of this country do not wear any political colours neither impunity and lawlessness do not have political affiliation. The attitude of lawlessness and impunity can no longer be condoned,” he warned.

Some members of the NPP have been going on rampage ever since their party took over power from the NDC.
