DCE’s murder: Volta MDCEs want Nkwanta Police Commander queried

Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Volta region want the Nkwanta District Police Commander, Supt Joseph Ackah questioned over the Nkwanta South DCE’s murder.

They claim Peter Kenyenso lodged several complaints to the Police in the District about threats on his life and so wonder why the Police did not give him the needed protection.

Kenyenso was killed in cold blood by unknown assailants on the night of Monday November 3, 2014 as he stepped out of his car to enter his home.

His 53-year-old brother, Boye Kenyenso also died Saturday evening at the St Joseph Hospital after the news of the DCE’s death was announced to him.

According to the Volta MDCEs, the murdered DCE requested for security from the Police Command but that request was not granted despite lodging several complaints about threats on his life.

DCE for Adaklu, Emmanuel Sky Ganaku told Starr news’ Volta regional Correspondent, Lambert Atsivor that: “…Peter complained that there are a lot of threats on his life, so we don’t know why the district police commander did not provide security for him.”

“…We think that the district police commander should be called for questioning,” he said.

The deceased DCE’s residence, which is located on top of an isolated hill, has no fencing and it’s currently under armed security after the incident.

Investigators from the Police Homicide unit are gathering facts to track down the perpetrators.
