DCE appeals to teachers of Akim Bonso to return to classes

Koforidua, Nov 12, GNA- The District Chief Executive for Kwaebibrem, Mr Yaw Yiadon-Boakye, has appealed to teachers of Akim Bonso to return to classes because calm has returned to the town. The teachers closed the schools last week following a clash over a longstanding land dispute between the chiefs of Tweapease and Akim Bonso for fear of their lives.

Mr Yiadom-Boakye said calm has returned to the town and appealed to the teachers to come back to the classroom since their safety is assured.

He said both the Regional Security Council and the District Security Committee have assured the teachers of their protection to enable them to go about their duties.

Mr Yiadon-Boakye appealed to the Health Post Attendant in the town who has also vacated his post to return. 12 Nov 03
