DCE appeals to Gov’t to help construct Aiyinase feeder roads

Nkroful (W/R), June 1, GNA – The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ellembelle, Mr Daniel K. Eshun, has appealed to the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ghana CocoBoard to help the Assembly to construct the Aiyinase-Nyamebekyere-Asomasi feeder road.

This, he said, would facilitate the easy movement of cash crops, especially cocoa, from the area to the market centres. Mr Eshun made this known in an interview with the GNA at Nkroful in the Ellembelle District of the Western Region. According to him, most of the people in the area were predominantly cocoa farmers but their produce was locked up on the farms due to inaccessibility. Mr Eshun said the Assembly was in the process of procuring a grader to reshape feeder roads in the District. “It will also afford market women in the hinterlands the opportunity to cart their produce from the farm to the market.” On the sustainability of good environmental sanitation, Mr Eshun said the Assembly had made provision for 6 refuse containers to be placed at vantage points in the communities to curb the indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
