Dan Botwe says NPP is not complacent

Cape Coast, Nov 17, GNA – Mr Dan Botwe, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Sunday said that being in power has not made the party complacent and that it would continue to build on its strengths, particularly at the grass roots level.

He said a fair assessment of the number of development projects taking place in the country was an indication that the party and government had performed well and should therefore be given a second chance at the next elections.

Mr Botwe said this at a press soir?e to close a four-day capacity building ‘trainer of trainers’ workshop, for the party’s executives in the Central Region, at cape Coast.

The Institutes of Economic Affairs (IEA) and Multi-Party Democracy sponsored it.

Mr Botwe said: “All the campaign promises made are on the right path. Looking at where we took over from, and where we have now reached,” he said. Mr Botwe said the government has performed well within a very short period with inflation being reduced and the prices of goods, particularly that of foodstuffs, remaining fairly stable.

The government, he said, had also been able to give to Ghanaians peace and all-inclusive government and the people must therefore be grateful for the achievements.
