“Shun shady deals…Former Governor tells businessmen”, is the banner healine of thwe lead story in the Graphic. The story says a former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mr J.S. Addo, has asked businessmen to disabuse their minds of the notion that success in business can only come through shady deals. Mr Addo, who is now Managing Director of Prudential Bank Limited, said the notion should not be accepted by society. Opening the second Christian Trasde Fair in Accra yesterday, Mr Addo emphasised that “normal and reasonable profits can be made” through honest business transactions. GRI

In another front page story the Graphic reports that a Lebanese, George Khariallah, Managing Director of West Africa Hardwoods Limited, is helping the police in investigations into the alleged rape of a 14-year-old junior secondary school student. The Graphic says its investigations indicate that Khariallah was invited to the Asokwa Police Station in Kumasi for questioning and granted bail. It is alleged that the suspect lured the teeenager into his car and sexually abused her at a hideout about three weeks ago. GRI
