Dagbon mourns loss of President Mills

Kampakuyya-Naa Abdulai Andani, Regent of Dagbon Kingdom said he learnt with profound shock and disbelief the sadden demise of President John Evans Atta-Mills on Tuesday.

“Professor Mills was a true friend of Dagbon and Northern Region. His tenacity and humility made him capture a special place in our hearts. Indeed, Ghana has lost a great leader and father,” he said in a statement issued in Yendi and copied to the Ghana News Agency.

“On behalf of the people of the Dagbon Kingdom, I send my deepest condolence to Dr Ernestina Naadu Mills, the new President, His Excellency, Mr John Dramani Mahama, the NDC (National Democratic Congress) leadership and the entire people of Ghana during this difficult period.”

Kampakuyya Andani noted that the greatest tribute to pay to the memory of the late President as a nation is to deepen respect for the rule of law and also emerge in the forthcoming elections peaceful and united as one country.

“I have no doubt that the new President Mahama…shall bring to bear the presidency the core Ghanaian principles of respect, humility, hard work and truthfulness at this turbulent times. **
