Dadieso Taxi Drivers Plan Accident-Free Christmas

The Dadieso Taxi Drivers Branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has held its end-of-year general meeting at Dadieso in the Aowin Suaman district of the Western District. They discussed how best they can help to make this Christmas accident free. Addressing the meeting, the local chairman of the Taxi Drivers Union, Mr.. Yaw Asoa, appealed to the drivers to maintain their vehicles regularly and observe traffic regulations to avoid accident throughout the year. Mr.. Asoa advised the drivers to be disciplined and avoid over-loading, over speeding and overtaking. Mr.. Asoa appealed to the government to extend electricity to the town this year to enable them maintain their vehicles at Dadieso instead of sending them to Kumasi and also stop the youth rushing to the cities for jobs. He commended the drivers for recording no accident this year and urged them to maintain it. The Local Secretary of the Union, Mr.. Wilson Acka said the union has planned to award best drivers of the union during this year’s Christmas and advised the members to pay their dues promptly to enable them to get enough money to complete their 60 million hotel, this year.
