CPP calls for spiritual, moral revival at Easter

Accra, March 24, GNA – The Convention People’s Party (CPP) on Friday appealed to Christians to commit themselves to upholding religious values to bring about spiritual and moral revival this Easter.

A statement signed by Dr Nii Noi Dowuona, General Secretary, said Ghanaians needed to remind themselves of the significance of Easter, which has always been the most solemn event on the Christian calendar. It noted that the celebrations were being held “against the backdrop of economic hardships, joblessness and hopelessness, social indiscipline and general despondency.

“The apparent state of hopelessness calls for a sober reflection and renewal of faith in our religious beliefs,” it said. The CPP also appealed to drivers to exercise caution during the Easter season “to maintain the sanctity of this unique occasion”.
