Court remands man threatening a farmer with a gun

Techiman (B/A), Dec 2,GNA – A Techiman Circuit Court has remanded a 33-year old farmer, Kwadwo Afena, to re-appear on December 8 for threat of life on Nicholas Adu Kwadwo, a palmwine tapper at Wawase near Nsuta.

Afena pleaded not guilty to the charge of threatening to kill Kwadwo with a single barrel gun.

Police Chief Inspector Sampson Y. Jebuni told the court that on November 24 Opanin Brenya, the family head, sold 150 palm trees to Adu Kwadwo.

Adu Kwadwo fell 70 out of the 150 trees and whilst busy working on them the accused appeared with a single barrel gun and demanded to know who authorized him to fell the palm trees.

When Adu Kwadwo mentioned Opanin Brenya as the one who sold the palm trees to him and the accused warned him, while threatening him with the gun.

He informed Opanin Brenya about his ordeal and they both reported the matter to the Nsuta Police.
