Court remands man for threat of death

A Goaso Circuit Court has remanded 26-year-old unemployed Angbaoro Nyowamille, into prison custody for allegedly threatening one Ashaitu Dinko with death and possession of firearm at Kenyasi Number Two in the Asutifi North District.

The accused who pleaded guilty would re-appear on Wednesday, October 10.

Police Chief Inspector Francis Azambeo told the court presided over by Mr. Osei Kwame Gyamfi that the complainant is a trader and lived in the same house with the accused and his wife, Ms Modesta Naah.

He said after sweeping his compound on September 19, the complainant sent her daughter to throw away rubbish at a refuse dump and when she returned, Modesta put more rubbish into the bin leading to a quarrel.

Chief Inspector Azambeo said the accused who was in a room emerged and threatened to kill the complainant, who reported the case to the police.

He said the accused was arrested and during a search in his room, a locally manufactured pistol, a pair of scissors and a knife were found and after investigations he was charged with the offence.
