Court remands man for murder

Ho, July 18, GNA – Edem Enam Dzoagbe, 19, a mason from Akrofu in the Ho Municipality has been remanded in Police custody by a Ho Circuit Court for allegedly beating a 35 year old woman to death. His plea was not taken. He is to re-appear before the same court on Thursday july 28 this year.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Appiah Kubi told the court, presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Siameeh that on July 10 this year, there was a misunderstanding between Dzoagbe and the deceased, resulting in Dzoagbe assaulting the deceased’s son for laughing at him. He said the misunderstanding led to a scuffle in which Dzoagbe beat the deceased mercilessly.

Chief Inspector Kubi said two days later, the deceased fell sick and died the same day.

He said when the accused heard of the death of the woman, he went into hiding but was later arrested by the police.
