Juaso (Ash), Nov. 16, GNA – A 32-year-old father, who found his 16-year-old daughter irresistible and therefore had sex with her, was on Monday put before the Juaso circuit court for defilement and incest. The plea of the culprit, Kwaku Duah, was not taken and was remanded in prison custody to re-appear on November 18. Prosecuting, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) A. S. Haruna told the court presided over by Mr Jacob B. Boon that Duah was a farmer at Bebome, near Agogo in the Asante-Akim North District of Ashanti, while the daughter, is a junior secondary school pupil at Agogo.
He said the victim visited her father in August this year, during the vacation.
ASP Haruna said the accused, who could not control his lust had sex with the daughter on three occasions and warned her not to tell anybody, otherwise he will stop paying her school fees. He said the victim, who could not keep it a secret informed her teacher about her ordeal when schools resumed. The prosecution said the teacher asked the victim to tell her grandmother, who after listening to her, reported the case to the Agogo police, who arrested Duah and after investigations charged him with the offence.
