Court remands ECG meter reader for stealing

Akim Oda (E/R), Sept 21, GNA – A Magistrate’s Court in Akim Oda, has remanded Desmond Brafo, 19, who claimed to be a meter reader of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), for unlawful entry and stealing. Brafo, who pleaded guilty, would reappear at court on September 29. Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah told the court, presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that Madam Joyce Osei Boateng is the complainant in the case. The prosecution said Madam Boateng detected that on September 13 this year, four bags of charcoal got stolen from the shop. Insp Appiah said Brafo, who was spotted at the shop, took to his heels but he was arrested and admitted at the Police Station that he stole the bags of charcoal.
