Tema, Sept. 11, GNA – The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ has remanded a driver, who was found in possession of a revolver without lawful authority.
Ato Kwamina pleaded not guilty to the charge, and will re-appear on Thursday, September 16.
Police Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court presided over by Mr Stephen Teye that on August 28, 2004, at 0730 hours, police had information that the accused person was in possession of a revolver. Chief Inspector Gyamfi said the police spotted the accused person in a Renault car and they stopped it.
The prosecution said when the police conducted a search on the vehicle and the occupants, it was detected that the accused person had the revolver and a knife hidden in his trousers.
Chief Inspector Gyamfi stated that, when the police questioned the accused person, he could not produce any licence covering the revolver and was, therefore, charged with the offence.
