Court jails plantain thief

Breman Asikuma, Feb 2, GNA- The Breman Asikuma Magistrate Court, has jailed a 24-year-old farmer, Kwaku Limann for 24 months in hard labour, for stealing two bunches of plantain valued at 50 thousands cedis. He pleaded guilty to stealing.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Gershon K. Aquyehg told the Court presided over by Mr Akwasi Asmah Asiedu, that on January 19, 2005, Ibrahim Danso who had laid ambush to arrest people who persistently steal his crops, caught the accused person red handed. Danso escorted Limann to Brakwa Police Station, where he was charged with the offence.
