Court grants chainsaw operator 10 million cedis bail

Mankranso (Ash), Sept 1, GNA – A Mankranso Magistrate Court last Tuesday granted a 31-year-old chainsaw operator, Kwabena Osah 10 million cedis bail for offensive conduct.

Osah who pleaded not guilty would re-appear on September 13. Police Inspector Francis Asante told the Court Presided over by Mr Frank Owusu-Afriyie that Nana Amma Konadu, Queen Mother of Nsuta in the Ahafo-Ano South district of Ashanti, pasted funeral posters of her deceased brother, Nana Yaw Akyeampong, an ex-chief of the town on some houses including her house.

He said on the night of August 16, this year, Osah, a member of the royal family, who was at loggerheads with Nana Konadu removed the poster on her house.

Police Inspector Asante said a witness who saw the accused removing the poster, informed Nana Konadu who lives in Kumasi about the incident. He said Nana Konadu reported the incident to the Pokukrom police who arrested Osah and after interrogation charged him with the offence.
