Court grants accused persons bail

Bolgatanga, Sept. 4, GNA- A Bolgatanga circuit court presided over by Mr. Imoro Ziblim, on Wednesday granted bail to three ex-convicts and two others who were charged for stealing a Yamaha motorcycle in Bolgatanga.

The court last Wednesday remanded eight suspects, six of whom are ex-convicts into prison custody for their alleged involvement in the theft.

It however, remanded three of the suspects who have been mentioned by the police for their “direct role” in the theft. They are Agendaa Awukilu, Abdul Karim Abubakri and Jacob Haruna. Those on bail are Assibi Atule, Salam Adam, Fuseini Ibrahim, Abubakari Issifu and Madina Adulai.

Last Wednesday the eight suspects appeared before the court charged with stealing a motorcycle belonging to one Kassim Adam who was travelling from Bawku to Tamale and decided to rest at Bolgatanga. The prosecution said Agandaa Awukilu and Abdul Karim Abubakari approached the complainant for but he told them he had only 75,000 cedis and could not give it to them. The prosecution added that the two forcibly took the money and the motorcycle from the complainant.
