The Madina Magistrate’s Court Grade One, had fined 19 drivers a total of GHC 5, 700.00 for various traffic offences.
It includes unauthorised parking, road traffic obstruction, which poses danger to other road users.
Mr Delali Anku, the Magistrate warned the drivers to refrain from using Zongo junction as a parking lot.
He said stiffer punishment would be meted out to anyone who appears before him in future.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency about the exercise the Madina Divisional Motor, Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police Emmanuel Adu Boahen said it was meant to deter drivers from using Zongo junction as parking lot.
