Completed dormitory handed over to Institute

Anaji (W/R), May 31, GNA – The Department of Community Development has warned individuals and organizations who are encroaching on the land belonging to the Community Vocational Institute at Anaji, to immediately vacate the property. Ms Georgina Baaba Otoo, Headmistress of the Institute, said the activities of such individuals and organizations will affect any future development or expansion of the institute.

She said several attempts to get the encroachers to halt their developments was not yielding any results and thus called on the Regional Minister to assist them in their efforts. Ms Otoo was speaking at a handing over ceremony of a GH¢54, 000 eight-room dormitory and a headmistress apartment for the institute at the Anaji.

The dormitory facility is part of a project earmarked as the first phase of a plan to move the institute from its current congested site at the Department of Social Welfare in Takoradi. The Community Vocational Institute was established in the region over 35 years ago to give the youth employable skills and to make them independent. 31 May 11
