Communities to be connected to the national grid in Shama

Shama (W/R), Nov. 29, GNA – The District Chief Executive for Shama, Ms Emelia Arthur, has said 13 more communities in the Shama District would be connected to the national electricity grid next year. She told the last meeting of the assembly that the communities to be connected included Kobina Anokrom, Abotaryie, Aboadze Anlo, Adjoakrom and Agnes Akurase.

The rest are Amenano, Anapasu, Ata Na Ata, Borkorkorpe, Essumankrom, Homokope, Kojobadukrom and Obiyimokyena.

Other development projects the assembly has lined up include Shama street lights, construction an administrative block, skill training centre for the disabled and establishing a technical training centre. The rest of the projects are completion of Shama polyclinic, construction of six-unit classroom block for Shama Senior High, construction of district fire station, connecting pipe borne water to Supom Dunkwa, Krobo, Borkorkorpe and Awuna Beach.

Ms Arthur said road construction, reshaping of drains and culverts and filling pot holes on major roads in the district would continue. 29 Nov. 10
