Communications Equipment for Police

The Chief Executive of Maxon, Mr. Seth Abadji has registered his displeasure at the Ghana Police Service for failing to follow up his offer to donate communications gadgets to them.

Mr. Abadji said this to the press after he had on Friday donated three PM 100 Mobile Radios worth $1890 to the Ghana Police Service through the Ministry of Interior.

He said after six weeks without any response from the Police Service he decided to give the donation through the Interior Ministry which controls the Police administration.

He said the Police or the Ministry should not hesitate to “ask for more” because the company is committed to the fight against crime in the system. The Chief Director of the Ministry who received the items expressed his profound gratitude to the company and said the communications gadgets would aid the police in its fight against armed robbery in the country. He said the gadgets would be put into good use.

Maxon Gh. Ltd an affiliate of Maxon Sewon is the world leading manufacturer of Citizens Band Radio and Two-Way Radio.

The Ghana Police Service over the years has cried for more resources to allow it to discharge their duties effectively and professionally.

Last week the Interior Ministry handed over 100 Land Rover vehicles and 30 Yamaha motor bikes to the Police. The total number of vehicles donated so far to the Police Service stands at 192 since the current government took office.
