Come back to us – Presby tells Twum Boafo

The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has extended an olive branch to the Executive Secretary of the Ghana Free Zones Board, Kojo Twum Boafo, who resigned from the church after accusing the leadership of dabbling in politics.

The Public Relations Officer of PCG, Emmanuel Osei, said several meetings have been held among the leadership of the church and government, hence the need for Mr. Twum Boafo to rescind his decision.

“Though he (Mr. Twum Boafo) is not a registered member of the church but worship with us, so I will ask him to rescind his decision and come back to our fold. We will accept him as a member and move forward”, Mr. Osei appealed.

He made the call when sharing his thoughts on the recent apology by President John Mahama to the Moderator of the Church, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey.

President Mahama called for a ceasefire when addressing chiefs and elders at the Odwira Festival of the Akuapem traditional area, after weeks of heated argument between some leading figures of the party and the church.

The church had called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to postpone the creation of the new 45 constituencies ahead of the December election.
