Collins Dauda to contest Asutifi South seat for NDC

Hwidiem (B/A), July 28, GNA – Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Brong-Ahafo Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was on Wednesday elected to contest the Asutifi South Constituency Parliamentary seat in Election 2004.

Alhaji Dauda, 47, was elected by popular acclamation at Hwidiem after Nana Williams Cosmos Nsiah Ababio withdrew from the contest. Officials of the Electoral Commission conducted the election, which was witnessed by Mr Mohammed Doku, the Brong Ahafo Regional Secretary of NDC.

Alhaji Dauda said he would ensure that education was improved in the Constituency if he were elected as the Member of Parliament. He thanked the delegates for the trust and confidence reposed in him and promised to work hard for the Party to win. Mr Doku advised members of the Party not to be scared or fear any intimidation and harassment from any political party in the area and urged them to intensify their campaign to attract more supporters to the Party.
