COGNAI to meet in Parma

The Council of Ghanaian Nationals Associationin Italy (COGNAI) is meeting on Saturday, February 9 in the city Parma.

According to the General Secretary of the Council, Gilbert Abasimi, the meeting will review activities organised by the Council last year, among them celebration of Ghana?s 50th year of Independence Anniversary and the Miss Ghana in Italy beauty contest held in Vicenza.

All 17 registered Ghanaian Associations in Italy are expected to be represented by their delegates which will also be discussing programmes to be planned for the year 2008. The delegates will be looking at activites to mark Ghana?s 51st Independence Day celebration, plans to complete various organs of the Associations, Committees that will have external relation with the Ghana Embassy in Rome, the Ghana Government, Ministries in Ghana, the Italian Government and its Ministries, the EU and relation with other Ghanaians in other EU countries.
