CLOGSAG call-off strike

The Civil and Local Government Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), on Wednesday called-off its nationwide industrial strike that started on October 31st 2012.

In a statement signed by Mr. Isaac Bampoe-Addo, CLOGSAG Executive Secretary to the Ghana News Agency said, “Having noted the interventions of Civil Service Council (CSC) and progress made so far, the National Executive Council (NEC) has ratified its earlier decision and call off the strike action.

“The decision to end the strike action followed a meeting involving NEC, CSC and CLOGSAG the nationwide strike,” it said.

CLOGSAG commended its members for their patience, support, courage and steadfastness and understanding during the period of the strike.

Meanwhile, GNA information indicates that the National Labour Commission (NLC) is mediating between CLOGSAG and the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission for amicable settlement of the impasse.
